Electoral History

Trajectory

With a degree in Electrical Engineering, Eduardo Braga built a solid technical foundation linked to the infrastructure, energy, and planning sectors, areas that would later shape his public career. From a young age, he demonstrated an interest in topics related to the regional development of the Amazon, especially the challenge of reconciling economic growth, territorial integration, and environmental preservation.

Political career

He entered public life early, being elected councilman of Manaus at the age of 21. Subsequently, he served as a state representative and federal representative. In 1992, he was part of the winning ticket for the Manaus mayoral election as vice-mayor, later assuming command of the municipal executive branch. In 2002, he was elected governor of Amazonas, a position to which he was re-elected in 2006, consolidating himself as one of the main political leaders of the state.
In 2011, he was elected senator of the Republic, being re-elected to the position in 2018. During Dilma Rousseff's government, he held the position of Minister of Mines and Energy, expanding his national prominence.

Performance in the Senate

In the Federal Senate, Eduardo Braga became one of the main formulators and articulators on issues of energy, sustainable development, and regional integration. He was the rapporteur for the Tax Reform , playing a central role in the political and technical construction of the country's new taxation model. He is a historical defender of the Manaus Free Trade Zone and works to find a balance between environmental preservation and economic development in the Amazon, being a reference for the MDB party on structural matters.
