Carlos Chiodini

Carlos Chiodini, a native of Jaraguá do Sul, is the son of local merchants and began his involvement in politics at the age of 17, when he was already affiliated with the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB). In 2005, he assumed the presidency of the party's municipal directorate and coordinated activities in four other municipalities in the region.

In 2006, Carlos Chiodini ran for state representative for the first time, representing the MDB party and presiding over the party's youth wing in the state. Although he obtained 25,000 votes, he did not win a seat in the Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina (ALESC) at that time. However, he assumed a position in ALESC as an alternate representative in 2008.

In addition to his political career, he also served as director of the Port of São Francisco do Sul between 2008 and 2009. In 2010, Chiodini was elected state deputy, being re-elected in 2014. His political career also included the position of Secretary of State for Sustainable Economic Development (SDS) of Santa Catarina, during the administration of Governor Raimundo Colombo (PSD), from 2015 to 2018.

Carlos Chiodini also served as president of the Santa Catarina State Environmental Council (Consema) and the Santa Catarina State Sanitation Council (Conesan). He also served as a member of the boards of Sebrae/SC, Fapesc, the Administration of the Santa Catarina Development Agency (Badesc), and Sapiens Parque.

In 2018, Carlos Chiodini was elected federal deputy with the support of the Bolsonaro government, winning approximately 97,000 votes. In 2022, he secured his re-election to the position of federal deputy with just over 80,000 votes. His political career is marked by his active participation at various levels of government and his alignment with the federal government.

Carlos Chiodini received the Parliamentary Excellence Award in 2023 from the Ranking of Politicians , with a score of 7.8 points, ranking 1st in Santa Catarina and 20th overall.
