Camila Bazachi Jara Marzochi (better known as Camila Jara ) is a Brazilian politician born on February 10, 1995, in Campo Grande (MS) . Affiliated with the Workers' Party (PT) , she graduated in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) and was heavily involved in student, feminist, and youth movements before entering institutional politics. She was a founder of collectives such as the "Coletivo Elas Podem" (Women Can Collective), focused on the political participation of women and girls . In 2020, she was elected councilwoman in Campo Grande , being the youngest and only woman in the City Council during that term, working on issues such as menstrual dignity and support for children who are victims of femicide.
In her political career , Camila Jara was elected federal deputy for Mato Grosso do Sul in 2022 , assuming her first term in the House of Representatives on February 1, 2023. She was the only woman elected from the MS delegation and the youngest member of the Workers' Party (PT) in the state's history in Congress. In the House of Representatives, she has served as vice-leader of the PT caucus and is a member of permanent committees such as the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee , the Finance and Taxation Committee , and the Communications Committee . She is also a member of parliamentary fronts, including the Environmental Parliamentary Front , the Front in Defense of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples , and she created the Parliamentary Front in Defense of the Pantanal . Her causes include reducing inequalities, women's and minority rights, and environmental causes.
In the National Congress , Camila Jara has a very active legislative role, with 143 proposals authored by her and 7 reported in 2025 registered on the House of Representatives's website. Among the bills she authored are PL 507/2025 , which amends the Maria da Penha Law to strengthen the protection of victims and the accountability of security agents; PL 5544/2025 , which establishes " Panic Button " technology in health units; PL 4401/2025 , which establishes the Hip Hop Policy in federal public schools ; PL 4400/2025 , which amends the Statute of the Indian to guarantee interpreters of indigenous languages in protection agencies; and PL 3147/2025 , which amends the Statute of the Child and Adolescent to prohibit pornographic content that simulates relations with minors. Bill 2334/2024 , which provides for the conservation and protection of the Pantanal biome ; Bill 3627/2023 , which prohibits conversion therapies for sexual orientation or gender identity; Bill 779/2023 , which establishes the National Policy for the Protection and Care of Orphans of Femicide ; and Bill 5944/2023 , which amends the Code of Civil Procedure to make resources linked to social programs unseizable.
