Trajectory
Antonio Carlos Rodrigues was born in São Paulo (SP) and built a career marked by administrative work in different spheres of public power. A law graduate with experience in state and municipal civil service, he held positions such as CEO of EMTU, Deputy Secretary of Sports and Tourism, and Secretary of Public Services of Guarulhos. He began his public life in the 1970s, accumulating technical and management roles that gave him the necessary experience for his future political career, especially in the areas of urban mobility, transportation, and administrative structure.
In his political career, he gained prominence when he was elected city councilor in the capital of São Paulo in 2000, being re-elected for three more consecutive terms. He presided over the São Paulo City Council for four consecutive years, an unprecedented feat at the time, and during this period he served as acting mayor on several occasions. As an alternate to Marta Suplicy, he held a seat in the Senate between 2012 and 2014 and later headed the Ministry of Transport between 2015 and 2016. In 2022, he returned to the polls and was elected federal deputy for São Paulo.
In the National Congress, she works on issues related to transportation, mobility, and public management, in addition to participating in debates on governance, oversight, and institutional matters. In the House of Representatives, she has presented and reported on proposals, serving on committees such as Transportation, Financial Oversight and Control, and Sports. Her recent work also includes firm stances on politically sensitive topics, defending the regular processing of controversial proposals in committees and adopting discourses focused on administrative responsibility and the strengthening of institutions.
