Trajectory
Ana Paula Procópio Junqueira Leão was born on August 22, 1965, in Varginha, Minas Gerais. Originally a rural producer, she maintains a strong connection to agricultural activity and life in the countryside, especially milk production, a family activity to which she frequently returns in her public career. Before assuming her federal mandate, Ana Paula held positions in the municipal government of Uberlândia, such as Secretary of Government, Secretary of Communication, and also Secretary of Agriculture and Supply. In 2022, she was elected federal deputy for Minas Gerais by the PP party with 77,990 votes, assuming office for 2023-2027.
At the federal level, Ana Paula Leão prioritizes issues related to agriculture, municipal affairs, rural health, tourism, gender, and public policies for women in rural areas. She is a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development (CAPADR) and also participates as a member of the Committee on Tourism (CTUR). As an alternate member, she serves on committees such as the Defense of Women's Rights and Health.
During her term, Ana Paula Leão presented numerous proposals: in 2023, she authored 220 proposals and produced 8 reports. According to House data, in 2025 she is credited with 76 authored proposals and 4 reports in the same year. A public example of her legislative initiative is the bill prohibiting the manufacture and sale of synthetic milk in Brazil, which she proposed and publicized in her parliamentary communications. She also reported on projects related to the dairy sector, such as the suspension of IPI (tax on industrialized products) on goods related to production and the requirement for transparency in the criteria for setting prices paid to producers. In 2025, she was also sworn in as the Southeast regional vice-president of the Parliamentary Agricultural Front (FPA), reinforcing her influence in the rural sector.
