Amom Mandel Lins Filho, born in Recife/PE on March 14, 2001, graduated in Law from the State University of Amazonas (UEA) and holds a specialization in Public Management. Before beginning his political career, he worked as a businessman and social activist, gaining notoriety for his involvement in social inclusion and community development projects.
He is the grandson of the president of the Court of Justice of Amazonas (TJAM), Domingos Jorge Chalub, and the stepson of the president of the State Court of Auditors (TCE/AM), Mario de Mello. His father is a university professor and his mother is a magistrate .
Amom Mandel began his political career in 2020 when he was elected city councilor of Manaus for Podemos (PODE) with 7,537 votes, at the age of 19, becoming the youngest councilor in the city's history . In 2022, he was elected federal deputy for Amazonas for União Brasil with 179,148 votes, becoming one of the youngest federal deputies in Brazil. In 2020, he created the "Galho Forte" Project, which seeks to make Manaus greener and more sustainable .
He stood out by obtaining a court order to postpone the ENEM (National High School Exam) in Amazonas due to the Covid-19 pandemic in January 2021. Amom also distinguished himself by denouncing corruption in bidding processes and the delivery of expired basic food baskets in Manaus , as well as demanding a detailed Municipal Vaccination Plan after evidence of "queue jumping." He also drew attention during his term as a city councilor by forgoing privileges he was entitled to, such as the "Cotão " (a type of public spending allowance). He presented several bills related to patients with autoimmune diseases and to increasing transparency in public administration .
Amom joined the Cidadania party to run for federal deputy for Amazonas. During the campaign, his team was the target of a shooting attack . He also drew national attention for having only 1 second of TV time, which he used to ask voters to "drink water," a slogan that became part of his campaign .
He was elected with 288,555 votes, becoming the youngest person ever elected in the history of Amazonas, at age 21, and also having the highest proportional vote in the 2022 general elections , with 14.5% of the votes in Amazonas. He ran for mayor of Manaus in the 2024 municipal elections, finishing in third place with 210,643 votes.
During his term as a federal deputy, Amom Mandel has distinguished himself through his work on issues related to transparency, combating corruption, education, and regional development. Among his main achievements are:
Amom Mandel presented 84 bills in his first year in office , and in 2023 he was the most economical member of the Amazonas delegation .

Amom Mandel received the Parliamentary Excellence Award in 2023 from the Ranking of Politicians , with a score of 7.02 points, making him the 4th best parliamentarian in Amazonas and 115th in the overall ranking.
