Amaro Rocha Nascimento Neto, born in Vitória/ES on December 4, 1976, is a Brazilian journalist, sports commentator, writer, television presenter, radio broadcaster, and politician. He has worked for several media companies in Espírito Santo and outside the state. Since 2009, Amaro has presented the program Balanço Geral on TV Vitória, an affiliate of RecordTV in Espírito Santo. In 2012, he worked at Band Minas in Belo Horizonte, where he presented the local edition of Brasil Urgente.
Amaro Neto began his political career in 2014, when he was elected state deputy for Espírito Santo by the Solidariedade (SDD) party, with 55,408 votes, being the most voted state deputy in the state. In 2016, he contested the second round of the municipal elections in Vitória for Solidariedade, against Luciano Rezende, of the PPS, the current mayor of the city. Amaro obtained 48.81% (91,034) of the votes, against 51.19% of his opponent, in the second round.
In 2018, he was elected federal deputy for Espírito Santo by the Republican Party of Social Order (PROS), with 181,813 votes, being the most voted federal deputy in the history of Espírito Santo . In 2022 he was re-elected, now by the Republicans, with 52,375 votes.
During his term as a federal deputy, Amaro Neto has distinguished himself through his work on issues related to public safety, health, and social development. He voted in favor of the pension reform in 2019 and the tax reform in 2023.
