Trajectory
Alexandre Leite is a politician from the city of São Paulo and holds a law degree. His political career began in 2011 when he was elected federal deputy. He stood out as one of the main leaders of the former DEM party, currently known as União Brasil. His political influence also extends to his family, as his father, Milton Leite, is a city councilor in São Paulo and holds the position of president of the Board of Directors. His brother, Milton Leite Filho, is also involved in politics, serving as a state deputy in the ALESP (Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo) and having held the position of second secretary of the Board.
In the House of Representatives, Alexandre Leite serves as coordinator of the São Paulo federal caucus. He is also the 3rd Alternate Secretary and a member of the Public Security and Combating Organized Crime Committee. Throughout his career, he chaired the Science and Technology, Communication and Informatics Committee between 2016 and 2017. Furthermore, in 2019, he held the position of 2nd vice-president of the Special Committee that analyzed Constitutional Amendment Proposal (PEC) 199/19, related to imprisonment after a second instance conviction. Currently, he serves as vice-leader of the União Brasil party in the House of Representatives. One of his significant activities was his role as rapporteur in the proceedings against Deputy Boca Aberta in the Ethics Council, resulting in the parliamentarian's expulsion for breach of decorum.
In 2022, Alexandre Leite was re-elected for his fourth term as a federal deputy, obtaining an impressive 192,806 votes. He is known for being a defender of issues related to public security and foreign relations, demonstrating engagement in matters of national importance. His political trajectory reflects his active role in the House of Representatives and his commitment to the interests of his electoral base and specific areas of activity.
