Alencar Santana Braga (known as Alencar Santana ) is a Brazilian lawyer and politician , born on March 14, 1976, in Guarulhos (SP) . A member of the Workers' Party (PT-SP) since 1998, he began his political career in the student movement and party activism, serving as a city councilor in Guarulhos and as a state representative in São Paulo before reaching the National Congress. His legal training and state legislative experience consolidated his work on issues of civil rights, social justice, and public policies aimed at protecting citizens.
In his political career , Alencar Santana was elected federal deputy for São Paulo in 2018 , assuming his mandate on February 1, 2019 , and was re-elected in 2022 for the 57th Legislature (2023-2027) . Throughout this period in the House of Representatives, he held positions as vice-leader of the Government (03/01/2023–05/05/2025) and, from 05/05/2025, 1st vice-leader of the Government in the House of Representatives , articulating legislative priorities of the allied base and contributing to the processing of government agendas. He has also been Minority Leader and vice-leader of the PT and the Brazil Federation of Hope at various times since 2019, expanding his influence in the coordination of the caucus and the party's parliamentary strategy. In the House, he is a member of the Transportation and Highways Committee and an alternate member of committees such as Foreign Relations and National Defense, Public Security and Combating Organized Crime, Finance and Taxation, the Constitution and Justice Committee, and others.
In the National Congress , Alencar Santana has extensive legislative activity. In 2025, the House of Representatives' website lists approximately 314 proposals authored by him and 11 reported on . Among the bills he has recently presented are:
• Bill 4837/2025 , which amends Article 272 of the Penal Code to add aggravated offenses resulting in bodily injury and death ;
• Bill 5235/2025 , which amends the Statute of the Elderly (Law No. 10.741/2003) to ensure the elderly person's right to receive accessible physical documents relating to essential services;
• Bill 4913/2025 , which makes it mandatory to issue a medical certificate for the legal guardian accompanying children under 12 years of age during the recommended rest period;
In addition to other previous proposals such as Bill 2185/2022 , in partnership with other parliamentarians, which proposes to limit interest rates on payroll loans for beneficiaries of federal income transfer programs ; and initiatives aimed at electoral protection such as Bill 2586/2022 , to inhibit economic electoral harassment in voting and abuse of economic power , presented jointly with Reginaldo Lopes.

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
