Alcíbio Mesquita Bibo Nunes was born on January 9, 1957, in Cruz Alta (RS). Before entering politics full-time, he worked as a communicator, television presenter, journalist, and businessman, careers that gave him public notoriety in Rio Grande do Sul.
He joined the Liberal Party (PL) and has served as a federal deputy for the state of Rio Grande do Sul since February 1, 2019. Within the House of Representatives, he has held leadership positions, serving as vice-leader of the PL at different times.
In his parliamentary work, Bibo Nunes is a member of important committees: he was the 2nd vice-president of the Communications Committee, a full member of the Tourism Committee, and participated as a full or alternate member in other financial oversight committees. In 2025, his record shows 201 proposals authored by him and 12 reports under his responsibility. His public activity is linked to conservative agendas, communication, tourism, and regionalism in Rio Grande do Sul; he has generated controversy through public statements and positions on matters such as media freedom and technological regulation.
Acknowledgements
Bibo Nunes received the Parliamentary Excellence Award in 2023, 2025, and 2026 of the 57th Legislature (2023-2026) from the Ranking dos Políticos , being the 8th best parliamentarian in Rio Grande do Sul and 41st in the overall ranking for the Legislature.

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
