Trajectory

Adriano Antônio Avelar, known as Adriano do Baldy , was born in Goiás on September 6, 1969. The son of Antônio Ferreira Avelar (truck driver) and Aparecida Ferreira Avelar (seamstress), he grew up in modest circumstances and learned important lessons of simplicity, honesty, and hard work from an early age. He is married to Rosana de Carvalho and has a daughter, Adrianinha. For many years he worked as a parliamentary advisor, first for Sandro Mabel and then for Alexandre Baldy, which gave him direct contact with the needs of Goiás municipalities and the diverse realities of the state's interior.

Political career

Adriano do Baldy was elected federal deputy for Goiás in 2018 with 77,729 votes. During his first term, he gained recognition as a parliamentarian with a "municipalist" profile, working closely with city halls, councilors, and local leaders to map the needs of the municipalities. In 2022, he was re-elected for another term (2023-2027), this time with 95,518 votes. His party affiliation is with the PP (Progressistas), in the state of Goiás.

Performance in the National Congress

Adriano do Baldy has distinguished himself in Congress for his advocacy of municipalism, dedicating a large part of his work to agendas that directly benefit the municipalities of Goiás. He plays an active role in permanent committees of the House of Representatives: he was a member of the Urban Development Committee (CDU), and an alternate member of committees such as Mines and Energy, Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development (CAPADR), among others. One of the highlights of his legislative work is his chairmanship of the Special Subcommittee that analyzes the future of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida (My House, My Life) program, an initiative that demonstrates his concern for housing policies and the monitoring of major social programs. He presented projects such as PL 1260/2021 (tax exemption for agricultural machinery), PL 6388/2019 (30% discount on electricity bills for milk producers), and PL 3765/2019 (reduction of taxes on electronics for teachers and students in public schools), all aimed at alleviating costs for farmers, rural families, and education.
