Adolfo Viana

Adolfo Pereira Viana de Castro Neto, born in Salvador, Bahia, on September 10, 1978, is a federal deputy for the PSDB party in Bahia, which he has been affiliated with since 2007. Before beginning his political career, Adolfo Viana worked as a businessman and was president of the PSDB Youth in Bahia. He studied Public Management at Estácio de Sá University and Business Administration, but did not complete his degrees. His family has a tradition in Bahian politics. His father, Antônio Honorato, was a state deputy for several terms, and his grandfather, also named Adolfo Viana, was mayor of the city of Casa Nova, located in northern Bahia.

Political career

Adolfo Viana began his political career in 2010, when he was elected state deputy for the PSDB in Bahia with 33,576 votes, becoming the youngest parliamentarian ever elected. He was re-elected in 2014 with 62,625 votes. In 2018, he was elected federal deputy with 102,603 ​​votes . In 2019, he became president of the PSDB-BA. In 2022, he was re-elected federal deputy for the PSDB with 133,317 votes.

Performance in the House of Representatives

During his term as a federal deputy, Adolfo Viana has distinguished himself through his work on issues related to regional development, infrastructure, and education. He assumed the leadership of the PSDB in the House in 2022. Among his main achievements are:

• Rapporteur for Bill 3626/2023 , which regulates sports betting ;
• Author of Bill 1686/2024 , which proposes emergency aid of R$ 600.00 to the population affected by the floods that have plagued Rio Grande do Sul.

He voted in favor of the pension reform in 2019 and in favor of the tax reform in 2023 .
