Trajectory
Túlio Gadêlha Sales de Melo was born on November 12, 1987, in Recife (PE) and is a consultant by training, holding a degree in Law from the Catholic University of Pernambuco (UNICAP). He began his political career at a young age in the student movement and with the PDT party, later migrating to the Rede Sustentabilidade (REDE) party , for which he was elected federal deputy for the state of Pernambuco in 2018 and re-elected in 2022 for the 2023–2027 legislature in the House of Representatives , being one of the main voices of his party in the National Congress.
Before arriving in Congress, Túlio Gadêlha was already involved in public activities and political articulation as director-president of entities such as Fundacentro and ITERPE in Pernambuco, in addition to party activism and involvement in social movements. He started in the PDT (Democratic Labour Party) and held positions as vice-leader of the Minority and of his party's caucus throughout his first legislatures, standing out for defending policies on human rights, the environment, labor, and citizen participation.
In the National Congress , Túlio Gadêlha has a significant parliamentary presence: in the current legislature, he has registered 222 proposals of his own authorship and 6 of his own report in the House of Representatives until 2025, according to official data from the House. He is a member of committees such as Labor , Environment and Sustainable Development , and Communication , and has previously served on the Amazon and Indigenous and Traditional Peoples Committee , in addition to having served as vice-leader of the PSOL-REDE Federation at different times. Among his projects are initiatives such as PL 4254/2025 (which recognizes the Poetry of Pajeú as a national cultural manifestation) and PL 3613-A/2024 (PL 4040/2025) , among others focused on culture, the environment, social rights, and education.
