Trajectory
Marcos Antônio Pereira was born on April 4, 1972, in Linhares, Espírito Santo. He graduated in Law from Paulista University, specialized in Criminal Law and Procedure at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, and obtained a master's degree in Constitutional Law from the Brazilian Institute of Teaching, Development and Research (IDP). He also worked as a lawyer, university professor, and had stints in the communications and consulting sectors before dedicating himself fully to his political career.
In the political arena, Marcos Pereira has held prominent positions. He was Minister of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services from May 2016 to January 2018. Elected federal deputy for São Paulo since 2019, he renewed his mandate for the period 2023-2027. He is the national president of the Republicanos party and held the position of 1st vice-president of the House of Representatives in two separate terms (2019-21 and 2023-25).
In the National Congress, Marcos Pereira serves as a full member of the Finance and Taxation Committee and the Public Administration and Service Committee, and also as an alternate member of the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Committee. He positions himself as a defender of Christian values, the family, municipal development policies, and the leading role of national industry.

Marcos Pereira received the Parliamentary Excellence Award from the Politicians Ranking in every year of the 57th Legislature (2023-2026), being the 14th best parliamentarian in São Paulo and 63rd in the overall ranking for the Legislature.

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
