Josias Mário da Vitória, born in Colatina/ES on June 2, 1971, holds a law degree from UNESC Colatina (ES) and a postgraduate degree in Public, Private, Corporate and Citizen Security Management from Universidade Vila Velha (UVV). Before beginning his political career, Da Vitória worked as a military police officer and lawyer, gaining recognition for his work in the area of public security.
Da Vitória joined the ranks of the Military Police of the State of Espírito Santo in 1990, where he served until 2006, when he went into reserve status after being elected to his first term as a state deputy for the PDT party, with 16,959 votes. He was re-elected state deputy in 2010 with 33,374 votes and again in 2014 with 40,090 votes, totaling three terms in the Legislative Assembly of Espírito Santo. In the Espírito Santo Assembly, he chaired Permanent Committees such as Public Security and Education. He also chaired the Committee on Fiscal Federalism and the Rio Doce Representation Committee, which worked to mitigate the impacts on the population and the ecosystem after the tragedy of the Mariana dam collapse in Minas Gerais. He served as Legislative Ombudsman for two years.
In March 2018, Da Vitória announced his affiliation with the Popular Socialist Party (PPS). In October of the same year, he was elected federal deputy for Espírito Santo by the PPS, with 74,787 votes, being the third most voted candidate in the state. In 2022, he was re-elected federal deputy by the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB) with 119,024 votes.
During his term as a federal deputy, Josias Da Vitória has distinguished himself through his work on issues related to public safety, regional development, and infrastructure.
He voted in favor of the pension reform in 2019 and the tax reform in 2023.
