Trajectory
José Juscelino dos Santos Rezende Filho, better known as Juscelino Filho , was born on November 6, 1984, in São Luís (Maranhão). He graduated in Medicine from the Centro Universitário do Maranhão (UNICEUMA), specializing in radiology and diagnostic imaging. Son of Juscelino Rezende, a politician from Maranhão, he entered public life with a strong regional presence and adopted medicine as his first field of work.
His political career began with his election as a federal deputy in 2014, representing Maranhão, a position he has held ever since. He was re-elected in 2018 and 2022, changing parties throughout his career until joining União Brasil. During his term, he took leave to assume the position of Minister of Communications in Lula's government between January 1, 2023, and April 8, 2025, when he resigned after a complaint from the Attorney General's Office involving alleged misuse of parliamentary amendments.
In the National Congress, Juscelino Filho has served on committees and presented proposals with some regularity. In 2025, he is recorded as having authored 11 proposals and been the rapporteur for 9 projects. He is a member of the House of Representatives's Communications Committee . As a member of parliament, he voted in favor of the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff, the labor reform, and the Spending Cap Amendment. He also chaired the Ethics Council in 2019 and 2020 and was the rapporteur for the 2022 Budget Guidelines Law (LDO). During his time as minister, he also held positions related to the regulation of the telecommunications sector and participated in parliamentary fronts for audiovisual media and the fight against piracy.
