Trajectory
José Eriberto Medeiros de Oliveira , known as Eriberto Medeiros , was born on September 26, 1965 , in Recife (PE) . He holds a bachelor's degree in Law from the Catholic University of Pernambuco (Unicap) and was a state public servant before entering politics. Affiliated with the PSB (Brazilian Socialist Party) , he was elected federal deputy for Pernambuco in 2022 , assuming his first term in the House of Representatives in the 2023–2027 legislature .
His political career began at the municipal level, when he served as a city councilor in Recife from 2001 to 2006 , working on committees such as Legislation and Justice, Finance, and Public Security. In 2007, he became a state representative for Pernambuco , being re-elected for four consecutive terms and holding positions as fourth secretary and leader of the party caucus in the Legislative Assembly (Alepe) . He also served as president of Alepe between 2018 and 2023 , where he consolidated his trajectory as a state leader before being elected to the National Congress.
In the National Congress , Eriberto Medeiros holds the mandate of federal deputy (2023–2027) for PSB-PE and, in 2025, will serve as vice-leader of the PSB in the House of Representatives . He is a member and vice-president of the Commission for the Defense of the Rights of the Elderly (CIDOSO) and participates in other commissions, in addition to being a member of special commissions such as the one for the PEC on Federal Competencies in Public Security . According to official records of the House of Representatives, he has 105 proposals of his own authorship and 6 of which he is the rapporteur in this legislature. Some of the projects he presented include PL 3972/2023 (declares the giant puppets of the Olinda Carnival as cultural heritage), PL 3974/2023 (declares the Ciranda as a manifestation of national culture), PL 3969/2023 (declares the São João de Caruaru as a cultural manifestation) and PL 4969/2023 (alters the concept of disability to include autism spectrum disorder and rare diseases).

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
