Trajectory
José Dias de Castro Neto was born on April 23, 1974 , in Teresina (PI) and is a civil engineer by training. Before entering electoral politics, he worked in public management positions in the Government of the State of Piauí , including as Secretary of State for Infrastructure and Director-General of the Department of Highways (DER-PI) , where he gained experience in works and regional infrastructure development. In 2022, he was elected federal deputy for Piauí by the PSD with approximately 127,753 votes, assuming his first term in the 2023–2027 legislature in the House of Representatives .
Throughout his political career, Castro Neto built an electoral base in the state through his work in public administration and his connections with local leaders, which led to his election as a federal representative in 2022, representing the PSD in Congress. In 2023 and 2024, he also served as deputy leader of party blocs that included the PSD and its allies , playing a role in internal coordination within the legislative base.
In the National Congress , Castro Neto serves as a federal deputy (2023–2027) and is a member of the Committees for the Defense of the Rights of the Elderly and the Committee on Social Security, Social Assistance, Childhood, Adolescence and Family in the House of Representatives , in addition to serving as an alternate member in committees such as the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence (PL 2338/23) and the Culture Committee . He has also been a member of the Council of Ethics and Parliamentary Decorum since July 2025. In the current legislature, he has registered 98 proposals of his authorship and 17 of his report in the House of Representatives's system, with initiatives focused on social protection and the rights of the elderly, for example, requests for public hearings in the Committee for the Defense of the Rights of the Elderly on fraud in the INSS (National Institute of Social Security) aimed at retirees and pensioners.
