Geraldo Gabriel Mendes (known as Geraldo Mendes ) is a Brazilian politician and businessman born on December 5, 1985, in Galvão (SC) . Before entering public life, he worked in the private sector and in business ventures that generated jobs in Paraná. He became regionally known in São José dos Pinhais (PR) and was elected federal deputy for Paraná by UNIÃO Brasil with 71,990 votes in 2022 , beginning his first term in the 57th Legislature of the House of Representatives (2023-2027) .
In his political career , Mendes assumed office on February 1, 2023 , and since then has served on several permanent committees in the House of Representatives, such as Mines and Energy , where he was 2nd vice-president and later a full member , in addition to serving as an alternate member on committees such as Agriculture, Tourism, and Health . His parliamentary trajectory also includes participation as an alternate member of the Ethics and Parliamentary Decorum Council in 2023. Mendes represents agendas focused on economic development, public safety, and social policies, with an active presence in voting and the coordination of amendments for works and services in municipalities of Paraná.
In the National Congress , Geraldo Mendes has a legislative presence in various areas, with approximately 51 proposals of his authorship registered on the House of Representatives's website in 2025. Among his bills are PL 1627/2023 , which seeks to reinforce security in educational institutions with the installation of airlocks and metal detectors ; PL 739/2025 , which provides for a complementary ophthalmological examination to the "eye test" at six months of age for the early detection of eye diseases; PL 2090/2025 , which prohibits the use of artificial dyes derived from petroleum in processed foods intended for children ; PL 1722/2025 , which mandates the inclusion of an information label on food products with extra/"fake" ingredients ; and PL 2502/2025 , which recognizes APAEs (Association of Parents and Friends of Exceptional Children) as entities of relevant public interest and establishes guidelines for financial and institutional support . and previous initiatives such as Bill 4907/2023 , on environmental licensing of green hydrogen , and Bill 5287/2023 , on participation in the trading of carbon credits in family farming areas . These proposals reflect its work in safety, public health, consumer protection, social inclusion and sustainable development .

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
