Fernando Rodrigues Máximo, known as Dr. Fernando Máximo , was born on October 4, 1979, in Ceres (GO) . A graduate in Medicine from the Federal University of Amazonas , he is a general surgeon, forensic medical examiner for the Civil Police, and volunteer professor at higher education institutions in Rondônia. Before entering federal politics, he served as Secretary of State for Health of Rondônia between 2019 and 2022, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, a position in which he gained administrative visibility.
Dr. Fernando Máximo was elected federal deputy for Rondônia in 2022 by União Brasil , being one of the most voted in the state with 85,604 votes , and is serving his first term in the House of Representatives (2023–2027) . During his parliamentary career, he held leadership positions such as vice-leader of a bloc (União, PP, PSDB, Cidadania, PDT, Avante, Solidariedade, PRD) for a period in 2024, which demonstrates his active participation in the political articulation of the House.
In the National Congress , Dr. Fernando Máximo is a productive parliamentarian, having registered approximately 248 proposals of his own authorship and 14 reported on by 2025. He is a full and alternate member of committees such as the Economic Development Committee , the Health Committee , the Foreign Relations and National Defense Committee , and is part of special committees such as the Tax Immunity Amendment , where he acts as rapporteur. Among his projects and initiatives, the following stand out: Bill No. 1040/2025 , which makes teaching about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) mandatory in teacher training; Bill No. 3493/2025 , on priority service for caregivers of people with disabilities; Bill No. 1038/2025 , which changes gun ownership rules for sport shooters; and proposals related to the inclusion and rights of people with disabilities, in addition to a Decree-Law No. 206/2024 approved in the House of Representatives that alters definitions in the National Weapons System.
