Fernando Bezerra de Souza Coelho Filho was born on February 28, 1984 , in Recife (PE) and is a business administrator by training. Son of Senator Fernando Bezerra Coelho, he comes from a traditional political family in Pernambuco and began his public career at a young age when he was elected federal deputy for the state of Pernambuco in 2006 , becoming at the time the youngest parliamentarian elected by the state. Since then, he has been successively re-elected and currently serves his term in the 2023–2027 legislature in the House of Representatives , affiliated with União Brasil (UNIÃO) after stints with PSB, MDB, and DEM throughout his political career.
His political career includes extensive experience in the federal legislature, with uninterrupted terms since 2007. Between 2016 and 2018 , he took leave from his mandate to serve in the Executive Branch as Minister of Mines and Energy in the government of President Michel Temer , where he led important agendas for the national electricity and energy sector. In the parliamentary sphere, over the years, he held leadership positions, including leadership of the PSB caucus in the House of Representatives , and played an active role in issues such as political reform and sector regulation, reflecting his previous experience in the Ministry and focus on energy and infrastructure policies.
In the National Congress , Fernando Coelho Filho serves as a full-fledged federal deputy (2023–2027) and, in 2025, registered 13 proposals of his own authorship and 2 of which he was the rapporteur in the House of Representatives , according to official data from the House. He participates in committees and debates related to topics such as energy and economic development, and in 2025 he was appointed co-rapporteur in a joint committee analyzing Provisional Measure 1,304 , concerning the electricity sector, demonstrating participation in structuring matters for the sector. Throughout his career, he has presented several projects dealing with sectoral incentives and benefits for regional development, including proposals related to irrigated agriculture, tax incentives and special regimes, as well as projects aimed at accessibility and promotion of export processing zones in Pernambuco.

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
