Ana Paula de Souza Lima is a federal deputy for Santa Catarina, elected by the Workers' Party (PT) for the 2023–2027 legislature . A nurse and obstetrician by training, with professional experience at the Hans Dieter Schmidt Regional Hospital in Joinville and as a public servant for the Municipality of Blumenau, her political career began with activism and a commitment to public health and social rights, issues that mark her entire parliamentary career. Before arriving in Congress, she served four terms as a state deputy in Santa Catarina , where she was the first woman elected to the Legislative Assembly for Blumenau , presided over the Assembly on several occasions, and coordinated the Women's Caucus, in addition to being the author of the law that established the Observatory of Violence against Women in the state.
In her institutional political career, Ana Paula Lima holds prominent positions in the House of Representatives. In her first federal term , she was elected vice-leader of the federal government in the House of Representatives , Secretary of Early Childhood, Adolescence and Youth , and is a member of the Health Committee , reflecting her strong work on health and social issues. She also participates in committees and parliamentary fronts on women's rights, the defense of vaccination, and the protection of vulnerable groups, reinforcing her role as an active voice on issues of gender equality, public health, and social inclusion.
In her legislative work, Ana Paula Lima has presented and supported a series of bills in areas such as health, inclusion, and social protection. Among her proposals are Bill 296/2025 , which makes the reporting of cases of obstetric violence mandatory throughout the country, approved in committee and aimed at guaranteeing public policies of support and respect for women; and projects focused on creating sensory spaces in schools and health units for people with autism (Bill 4010/2024 and Bill 466/2025) , in addition to initiatives such as Bill 4292/2024 , which establishes the "Person with Autism on Board" seal for the identification and support of people with ASD. She also proposed to Congress projects such as PL 6622/2025 , which seeks to establish national guidelines for the prevention of child marriage, and PL 5691/2025 , which expands easy access to oral hygiene products as a tool for promoting health. Her work also includes supporting the modernization of nursing councils and allocating parliamentary amendments for health, culture, infrastructure, and disaster prevention in municipalities in Santa Catarina.
