Alexandre Duarte Lindenmeyer was born on December 23, 1963, in the city of Rio Grande (RS), and holds a law degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG). Before reaching the National Congress, he built a long political career in Rio Grande do Sul, including terms as city councilor , state representative , and mayor of Rio Grande , positions that marked his work focused on social policies and local and regional development. Elected federal deputy for the Workers' Party (PT), he is part of the 2023-2027 legislature , strengthening his political presence in Brasília as a representative of Rio Grande do Sul in Congress.
In the House of Representatives , Lindenmeyer serves as a full member of committees such as the Committee for the Defense of the Rights of the Elderly , the Labor Committee , the Public Administration and Service Committee , and the Tourism Committee , in addition to serving as an alternate member of others, which reflects his involvement with social issues, labor, and public policies that are fundamental to Brazilian society.
In his legislative work , Alexandre Lindenmeyer has a prolific parliamentary output, focusing on social policies, inclusion, labor rights, and sustainability. He is the author or co-author of bills such as PL 1101/2024 , which allocates cell phones seized in prisons to unemployed women and young people registered in the CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs); PL 1100/2024 , which directs resources from tax debts of sports clubs to para-sports projects aimed at vulnerable youth; PL 4983/2023 , which guarantees the right to potable water through the installation of public water fountains in high-traffic urban areas; PL 1106/2024 , which includes oral hygiene kits in the basic food baskets of the National Food and Nutritional Security System; and PL 2133/2024 , which establishes the National Program to Support Those Affected by Climate Change. He also acts as rapporteur on relevant matters, such as Bill 2679/2024 , which expands education for young people and adults to include the elderly, in addition to projects related to labor law, the rights of the elderly, the environment, and public policies for social inclusion, consolidating his role as a parliamentarian focused on social protection and sustainable development.

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
